Catherston Oakley has a wonderful temperament, superb confirmation and expressive paces.
His pedigree boasts great performance throughout. Wellingtonia was on the British Junior Event Squad in 1983. Dutch Courage was a top International Grand Prix Dressage horse, as well as a hugely prolific sire. Dutch Gold won numerous World Cup Dressage Qualifiers and competed at the Olympics in 1988. Fleetwater Opposition won the Junior Eventing Europeans before going on to be an International Grand Prix Dressage horse. Dutch Bombshell won in the show ring, and was also a dressage horse and Individual and Team Vaulting horse. A varied and successful pedigree!
Oakley has competed up to Intermediate level eventing, with many wins and placings along the way. He also qualified for the dressage nationals in 2023. Oakley’s first progeny were born in 2021 and have impressed owners and judges alike. Four foals from his first crop were awarded gold premiums at the Futurity.

The purchaser understands that:-
This contract entitles the mare owner to unlimited attempts with Fresh or Chilled semen for a named mare, whilst the stallion is in residence at WKS in 2025.
No stud fee is payable up front, but the appropriate stud fee must be paid in full to West Kington Stud Ltd upon successful heartbeat scan.
A free return will be offered in 2026 only if a full stud fee is paid upon heartbeat scan in 2025 and the mare subsequently fails to produce a live foal in 2026. This will only be offered upon certification by an RCVS registered vet.
Please note if accepting a Free Return, if the stallion is not available for fresh/chilled semen collections in 2026 for any reason, a maximum of 2 insemination doses of frozen semen will be offered instead.
Nominations for Embryo Transfer (or any other advanced breeding technology) are entitled to one pregnancy only per nomination. Intention to use ET MUST be disclosed at the time of booking. An additional stud fee will be invoiced for each additional pregnancy achieved.
It is a requirement of this agreement that the named mare is scanned for pregnancy and to confirm presence of a heartbeat by 30 days. The certificates must be completed by a vet and returned to WKS immediately after scanning, regardless of result.
A Certificate of Insemination and Confirmation of Pregnancy Diagnosis is included with every consignment of chilled or frozen semen. These Certificates MUST be completed by your vet and returned to West Kington Stud Ltd. Once the mare is confirmed in foal at heartbeat, an invoice will be raised for the full stud fee . A Covering Certificate will NOT be issued until all documentation is received and the stud fee is paid in full.
